Classic Light bulb or LED Light Bulb
Classic Light bulb or LED Light Bulb: what differences in terms of lighting?
You hesitate to change your lights for fear of having a difference in brightness? This article reviews classic and LED lighting.
No lighting difference
There is absolutely no difference between the light created
by an LED light and the light created by an incandescent or halogen light. With
the naked eye, it is impossible to say if a luminaire is equipped with a LED
lamp or conventional light (if the lights have of course the same hue of light i.e.
warm white in general).
70 to 90% less energy consumed
The main difference between conventional lights and LEDs is
in electricity consumption. To produce the same luminous flux, an LED light
consumes 70 to 90% less electricity than an incandescent light that loses most
of the electricity in the form of heat.
As an example, a conventional 75W light can be replaced by
an equivalent LED lighting consuming 8W. GU10 50W halogen- intensive
spotlights are replaceable by their LED equivalent from 5 to 7W.
Life expectancy 20 times higher
Another advantage, the average life of LED lights is 20,000
hours minimum is 10 to 20 times more than conventional lights. This saves many lights
changes: saving time and money.
A profitable investment
In the end, although slightly more expensive to buy lights
or LED spots can save 70% to 80% per year. The initial investment is paid back
on average in 12 months.
